Our night tour of Willemstad with Sally was truly an unforgettable experience. As we strolled through the charming streets of Punda, we were introduced to the island's rich culinary scene. It wasn’t just a tour—it felt like we were walking alongside a friend who was eager to share the hidden gems of Curaçao.

We started with a delightful appetizer: Ginger Cheeseballs. The crispy, golden exterior gave way to a smooth, creamy interior that was infused with a subtle kick of ginger. It was a perfect balance of flavors that immediately set the tone for what was to come.

For the main course, we were treated to Ariane, a quintessential Dutch-Curaçao dish that captured the heart of the island’s culinary tradition. This dish featured a tender, delicately cooked portion of fresh fish, perfectly complemented by a rich, velvety chouder creeme. The creamy texture of the sauce paired beautifully with the freshness of the fish, creating a harmonious balance of flavors.

Alongside the fish, the dish was served with Curaçao-style rice—a fragrant, slightly seasoned rice that had a comforting, earthy quality, subtly infused with spices that brought out the depth of the island's culinary heritage. The rice was light and fluffy, yet flavorful enough to enhance the fish and sauce without overpowering them. Every bite was an invitation to savor the tastes of Curaçao, and it truly felt like a tribute to the island's rich cultural fusion of Dutch and local flavors.

As for dessert, we indulged in the Pumpkin Waffle. The waffle was warm and fluffy, with just the right hint of sweetness from the pumpkin, paired with a light, spiced topping that was both comforting and indulgent. It felt like a sweet embrace to end our meal.

The highlight of the experience, however, wasn’t just the incredible food—it was the company of Sally, our guide. She wasn’t just there to show us around; she effortlessly made us feel like we were part of the island's vibrant atmosphere. Her stories about the history of Willemstad and its culinary traditions brought the city to life, and her energy was infectious. It was clear that Sally had a deep love for the island and its culture, and her enthusiasm made us want to soak in every moment.

As we sipped on a refreshing Mojito, Sally shared local tips on the best places to explore, and her insider knowledge made the experience feel personal and unique. We didn’t just visit Willemstad; we truly experienced it through the eyes of someone who deeply cares about its charm.

This wasn’t just a typical tour—it was an immersive journey through the flavors, stories, and rhythms of Curaçao. Thanks to Sally’s warmth and expertise, we left feeling not just like tourists, but like we had truly been welcomed into the island’s heart. If you're looking to explore Curaçao in the most authentic way, this night tour is a must!
